Property:
Propylene Glycol Alginate is a natural polysaccharide extracted from brown seaweed and other seaweed. It is white or yellow-white fine powder, which is odorless or slightly smells like aromatic hydrocarbon. Propylene Glycol Alginate can not be dissolved in ethanol but when dissolved in water, it forms into gel solution.

Usage:
Propylene Glycol Alginate is widely used in food industry because of following special properties:
1. Hydrophilic ability
Propylene Glycol Alginate can be dissolved in water and form thick solution easily, thus widely used in food industry as thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer.
2. Acid Resistance
Propylene Glycol Alginate can exist in acid ( pH 3-5) stably, thus used in fruit juice and lactic acid drinks.
3. Emulsifying and foaming ability
Propylene Glycol Alginate is good at emulsifying and foaming, thus widely used in yogurt, flavouring and beer (as foam stabilizer).
